Hypnotherapy with Narelle Stratford

A hypnotherapist is someone who is trained in hypnosis, and is able to use that training to help people with many different issues.

Many people think that hypnosis is something that happens to you while you sleep, but as every hypnotherapist knows, hypnosis occurs when you access a different level or state of consciousness. You certainly aren’t asleep, and the sensation of being hypnotised may or may not be one of deep relaxation now.

Hypnosis has been scientifically validated, and has been used to provide positive suggestions to the listener for the purpose of, for example:

  • Losing weight
  • Gaining weight
  • Giving up smoking
  • Gaining confidence
  • Being more assertive
  • Tapping into creativity
  • Memory enhancement
  • Accelerated healing

These are just some of the areas that hypnotherapy has been used in, and there are so many more it is impossible to list.

Benefits of Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is safe, and can be used with depression and anxiety.

It is also very good for reducing stress, and helping to manage health conditions and illnesses.

Hypnosis is also very good for pain management, pain relief and being used more often instead of anaesthetics for surgeries, and of course, childbirth.

About Narelle Stratford

Well, that’s me in the photograph!

I was born in Gordonvale, south of Cairns in sunny north Queensland, Australia. I moved a lot throughout Queensland, and settled for a time in Mackay and Mirani. Like many of us, I married, had children, and later divorced.

I’m known for my laugh around the world.  It’s a funny thing, I can call someone up on the phone and start laughing as I say, “guess who this is,” and they will instantly know it’s me.  When I left one workplace I was told that for weeks after the place was too quiet and they missed my laughter.  It’s not the same as someone being remembered for academic brilliance or projects, yet it gives me a warm feeling to know that someone has had a rush of endorphins and feels good just because I am being me.

I have an innate curiosity that drives me and takes me into unexpected realms, like Quantum Physics, Spirituality and Past Life Regression.  The Past Life and Spirituality side of things annoys the heck out of some academics and that’s okay with me that we disagree.  I’ve also got Uni degrees, and other qualifications besides that of a psychologist which have helped me to understand how the human mind works, and how your soul can need as much and more help than your body.

I’ve been privileged to have studied with Dr Rosita Rodriguez of Arche International, in Chicago, on Principles of Consciousness.  It was after attending a 2 week program with Rosita and her team that I decided I wanted to become a psychologist.  So, as a mature-age single Mum, within 2 months I found I’d been accepted at Uni and then spent the next 5 years studying.  Along the way, I also trained in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

Following University, I entered the workplace after one failed attempt in private practice as a business owner.  Boy, did I learn lots from that one! So, I embraced internet marketing, and courses in it, as well as business principles and philosophies.

Because of the business side I was fortunate to attend a Terri Cooper Networking event, meet the President and Editor of the then Australian Organisation for Quality and it’s journal and travelled extensively for the next few years, speaking in Australia, Iran, Nepal, New Zealand, India and South Korea, and attending conferences in the United States.  How lucky can one person be? I feel so blessed and grateful.

I’ve met amazing people along the way who’ve had their share of issues.  I’ve always been good at helping people to remove the obstacles in their thinking and encouraging him or her to see the dream, the big picture.  It’s actually an unusual skill to be detail conscious and perceive the big picture at the same time and it is something I thoroughly enjoy.

Additionally, I am always looking for what might block your success, what beliefs might sabotage your dreams, what associations might be damaging for you. Even culturally, there are those who are slaves to their culture and will find it difficult to advance if those ties are not lovingly severed.

It’s as important to check on how you are looking after yourself as it is to see if you are looking after your business. An axe left blunt does not cut down trees…

I absolutely love what I do and the work that I do and I think my passion for you to be the best, to be empowered and experience your own power and authority comes through to you when we work together.

It is so valuable to let go of the old, to learn new ways of being, doing, having, and to know that you can call on these internal resources whenever you want. It’s about inspiring you to be the change you wish to see in the world and I look forward to your vision as much as you do.  See you soon!
